![]() ![]() While they do this, the clinic van goes through the express lanes and picks up the clinic's clients on the American side, ferrying them on to their hotels or the airport, as needed. The solution: patients are off-loaded at the foot of the bridge, where they walk across the bridge and proceed with passport check on the American side - a quick and easy procedure. But, a single nonregistered passenger in an otherwise registered vehicle MUST wait in a much longer and much slower line. A properly registered van and registered driver and ~registered passenger~ may go through express lines into the USA. Returning to the American side of the border requires (1) a long time in the van - up to two hours, or (2) a walk of approximately half a mile over the Bridge of the Americas. ![]() But, as I said, all speak competent to fluent English, so they happily answer any query put to them. The dentist and dental assistants chatted during the procedures (in Spanish). If you tend to be anxious outside your native culture, any Mexican dentist will likely test you. I began my own search, seeking Mexican dentists in border areas where the American city is served by Southwest Airlines. ![]() A few come from as far away as Alaska! I'm guessing that the cost of travel has much to do with this. Not surprisingly, most come from New Mexico and Texas and central North America. I asked two different van drivers and one of the dentists where their non-Mexican clients came from. Most had heard of Nucleo Dental via referrals of friends or family.ģ. All were repeat patients, one going back 30 years! All were drawn to Mexico generally for much lower-cost dental work. For everyone else in the van, I always asked how they met Dr. So far as I know, I was the only "newbie" among those who crossed over to Juarez during the three days of my visit.Ģ. He was always polite, informative, and efficient in navigating Juarez traffic.ġ. The next two mornings, he retrieved me from my hotel, drove me to the clinic, and delivered me back to my hotel when that day's dental work was done, except on the last day he delivered me to the airport. A clinic driver picked me up at the El Paso airport and later that day delivered me to my hotel in El Paso. In my small town, that's not ever gonna happen!Ħ. Turn around time for crown construction was 24 hours. The amazing affordability prompted me to have the additional work done during this visit, and it proceeded with dispatch.ĥ. Moran identified additional problems needing to be addressed (by fillings and minor tooth-edge buildups), quoting me prices for the work, and leaving it up to me whether this work was done by him. Navarez who assisted in preparation for crowns, fitting for crowns, and installation and adjustment of the crowns.Ĥ. Olmos who did a second root canal, and Dr. Moran who made an initial evaluation and perfermed one root canal, Dr. Part of this was an early start to the day but most of it was the skillful use of anesthetics and the efficiency of the dentists. I dozed off in the chair during a root canal. The dentists explain carefully what they propose to do and answer questions patiently and thoroughly.ģ. Examining/treatment rooms are immaculate and the equipment is the latest I have encountered, including very low-intensity xray equipment producing instant digital xray images.Ģ. The clinic is very modern, an obviously recently constructed building. My recommendation of Nucleo Dental is based on my own experience and answers to queries I made of other patients over a period of three days.ġ. I offer this review based on 40 years of visiting dentists (I think my mother got my teeth at a flea market!). After much networking and internet searching, I settled on Nucleo Dental in Juarez. That made me check out dental services in Mexico. Needing two root canals and two crowns, I checked my local dentist for a quote: $1825 each. ![]()
